Our
ultimate goal is to provide the best possible dance and
movement program offered to childcare centers, church
enrichment programs and private schools throughout
Georgia. We are committed
to quality dance training taught by the most talented dance
teachers in the South. The teachers are reliable and always
prepared with well-planned, age-appropriate lessons. They
enjoy the children and welcome parents to observe at any
time. The classes are structured, yet flexible to meet the
needs of preschoolers thru primary students who need to have
fun while learning. We are very excited to welcome a
superlative staff and new centers for the 2008-2009
sessions, and look forward to having your child in our
program.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE
PAYMENTS AT YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL! Teachers of
CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE DO NOT accept checks
that are left at schools! Already several checks
have been lost or deposited into the schools’
accounts.
PLEASE BE SURE TO PAY YOUR TUITION ON TIME. MAKE
YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT ON-LINE OR MAIL IT IN! We
have been lenient in the past with students that
have not paid their tuition on time, and have
allowed a generous grace period. This year we
must stick to the tuition guidelines (listed
below). We do not like having to withhold
children from class. It is very embarrassing and
uncomfortable for the child as well as the
teachers.

TEACHER TRAINING
Our August Teacher's Training
Meeting. CMD teachers have year round training meetings.
PARENT OBSERVERS
We cordially invite and
encourage parents to observe class and thank all that have
visited our classes. However, we have had complaints that
students are being distracted by talking parents and loud
siblings WEEKLY. Please observe quietly without disturbing
the class. We request occasional, rather than weekly visits.
Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE
follows the same cancellations for inclement weather as the
county which your child’s school is located. Classes will be
made up within 30 days of the cancellation. The make-up day
and time will be posted in the lobby and notices will be
mailed out to all students.
TEACHER WORKDAYS
County schools throughout the
Atlanta Metro area have several teacher workdays scheduled
which CMD does not observe. CMD will hold classes as
scheduled on these days. As detailed in your Registration
Brochure, CMD follows the same holiday closings as the
county in which your child’s school is located for
Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break only.
Private schools and
church enrichment programs may differ. At these
schools, we follow their closings.
SUMMER WORKSHOPS
& MINI CAMPS
This Summer CMD will hold our
exciting Workshops at most locations. We will also hold our
week long MINI CAMPS at a few of our church locations. These
half day camps will include Ballet, Drama, Musical Theatre,
and Art. Look for information in early Spring or feel free
to call our office to reserve your child’s spot. Mini Camps
are limited to 15 students.
HOLIDAY & SCHOOL
CLOSING CALENDAR
CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE
follows the same closings as the county in which your
child’s school is located for Thanksgiving, Winter, and
Spring Breaks only. Church enrichment programs and
private schools may differ. At these schools, we follow
their closings. We will post a holiday closing schedule
and reminder in November by “hand out” newsletters as well
as on our website. All monthly newsletters are posted at the
on-site locations and on our website under “CURRENT
NEWS”. Classes are held on Early Release days and County
Teacher Workdays/Student Holidays at all locations.
Please call if you have any questions. To reiterate, CHURCH
PROGRAMS AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS MAY DIFFER.
DRESS CODE:
Please dress your child at home if they have a morning or
noon class. Also, please label all of your child’s dance
attire. Due to changing issues at our church enrichment
programs and schools with afternoon classes, we are asking
parents to save tights for extremely cold days and recital
performances, or dress your child in their dance attire
under a skirt or jumper on dance day. Several of our Church
locations request all ballerinas to arrive at school dressed
in dance attire on their dance day. This is at the
discretion of the directors.
Girls will need a pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet
slippers. Tights are optional due to hot weather or by
request of some of our schools. Long
hair should be pulled away from the face. Tap-ballet
students need black tap shoes. Jazz students may wear any
color leotard, tank top, jazz pants, and jazz shoes. Please
label all dance attire!
Dancewear is now available online.
BALLET SLIPPERS
- During the past few months, teachers have noticed that
some students have outgrown their ballet slippers. Please
check your ballerina’s slippers to make sure they fit
properly. Also, cut the strings at 1 inch after tying a
knot. These strings are to be tucked inside the shoe. Ballet
slippers do not have bows. Check your child’s Tap shoes as
well, if enrolled in Tap/Ballet. As always, label your
child’s name on their shoes and all dance attire.
